Promising energy optimization at SCA Obbola

The collaboration between Calejo and SCA at the Obbola pulp mill is yielding promising results in energy optimization. By applying Hybrid Intelligence to the mill's complex energy systems, we have identified opportunities for significant improvements.

Initial modeling work suggests potential for double-digit percentage reductions in energy consumption without compromising production quality or throughput. These improvements come from better coordination of heating, cooling, and steam systems, as well as optimization of batch schedules.

The next phase involves implementing and testing these optimizations in a real production environment. If the results match our models, this could represent a major step forward in sustainable industrial operations.
